A Reading With Linda Jones - Light Reader

Linda Jones - Light Reader
Linda Jones - Light Reader

Right after the Hay House Live! workshops last October, I contacted Linda Jones, my new friend from the weekend, to book a card reading with her.

Linda is very ethereal, she loves nature, as you will see if you follow her on Instagram. I am fascinated by her work with bees and how close she gets to them! You will also see squirrels, her adorable parrot Mango, and lots of flowers and nature pics. And of course, she has card readings on her page too! She is a Certified Card Reader and also a Certified Angel Guide through Kyle Gray.

It's interesting to go back and look at this reading since it was about ten months ago. See how behind I still am with this blog? I could have skipped all of those months, but there has been so much leading up to today, that I really wanted to go back and see how it all fits into now.

We set up the appointment and the reading took place over the phone, and then Linda texted me the cards and write-up of the reading later that day.

I wanted just a general reading and then Linda let me ask some additional questions on other topics after. At the beginning she pulled two cards to see what direction the reading was going in. Green Tara and Mary Magdelene were pulled, but she told me she felt strongly about Archangel Raphael too. I work with him all the time when I work on Reiki clients, so that was a great feeling to know he's with me. Linda also saw green around me when we were in person, which is his color. Green is also the color of the heart chakra. I channel Reiki healing energy  through my crown chakra, then into my heart chakra, down my arms, and out through my hands for healing. Green is a color of healing and Archangel Raphael is the Archangel of healing.

Linda said the Mary Magdelene card is indicating that my inner teacher awakens. When I asked her an additional question at the end of the reading about timing, she pulled two cards and said it would be winter time, late January or early February. Now I didn't plan this, but clearly it was literally in the cards, because late January I applied to teach my first class at Unlimited Thought Enrichment Center on vision boards. I was approved, and they were able to fit it into their schedule for February. I taught after that until the pandemic shut everything down. And now I'm teaching live classes on Instagram. So Linda's card reading was spot on.

In the reading Linda saw me needing to make quick decisions due to unexpected changes, and she even drew The World card for me about the near future, indicating a major life event. Nothing could be more major than what the entire planet has been going through with COVID-19, and I find it so fascinating that the card was The World. It wasn't just about me, that card was really for everyone.

Linda saw me partnering with spirit, and using her intuitive gifts, she immediately thought of Archangel Michael. Of all of the Archangels, Michael is the one I call to the most. You can ask him to stay with you always and he will. I had done so quite a long time ago. He is able to be with multiple people at the same time, so you can ask him to do the same. For me, he is my protector and the protector of my home and family. I ask him to protect those I work on for Reiki and for card readings as well. So I am so happy about a spiritual partnership with Archangel Michael!  I have learned recently that he is the Archangel for life purpose, so that is another important facet of his abilities to help. Just ask.

There was much more in the reading, but I wanted to give you a sample of Linda's work because she is a beautiful soul using her gifts to help others. She blends her intuitive gifts with the cards to provide a solid reading. Her readings are accurate and filled with kind-spirited words because that is who Linda is.

Love Yourself More Than Anyone Else Could - James Van Praagh

Me & James Van Praagh
Me and James Van Praagh

I am still catching up on my blogs, so I gathered my notes from James Van Praagh's workshop from October 2019...yes I have quite a bit of catching up to do!

"Love yourself more than anyone else could," was the first quote I scribbled in my journal from James' Discover Your Spiritual Superpowers! workshop. That is certainly a beautiful affirmation from someone I have admired for over 25 years.

James Van Praagh Hay House Live! Houston
Hay House Live! Discover Your Spiritual Superpowers!

Saturday morning October 5, 2019, I prepared to go at the Houston Convention Center to attend the Hay House Live! workshop with James Van Praagh. I have followed James ever since he appeared on the television series The Other Side in 1994. He had his own show Beyond With James Van Praagh in 2002, he was the creator and executive producer of The Ghost Whisperer, wrote more than a dozen books, to name a few of his many accomplishments. As a child, I was an avid book reader (apparently that has never left me), and topics that fascinated me even in my youth, were about psychic abilities and life beyond death.

As usual, I said a prayer and visualized how the event would unfold, before I arrived at the venue. I pictured myself sitting in the front row, right in the center. I envisioned a wonderful lecture, meeting kind souls, and of course having a moment with James Van Praagh. I always pray "all this or even better," as the Universe usually has better in store than we can imagine. I also add in "all for my highest good." The reason I do that, is because, we can decide how we want things to work out, and get stuck there. I know I used to. Sometimes things don't go the way we want them to. What I believe now, is that if it isn't in my best interest, it won't happen. I believe that everything is working out for me, even if it doesn't look that way at the time. Because of this view, I am not disappointed when things don't work out the way I want them to. I feel that I am being Divinely guided, either away from something not right for me, or guided towards something better. It is a more positive way to look at all of the events that happen in your life.

Hay House Live! Houston
Front and center always!

When I walked in the door to the class, just as I had visualized, my seat was waiting for me. I plopped down my tote bags and said a quiet thank you. I was early of course, I always am. I visualize what I want, but I do participate in making it happen. I'm not forcing it, but I am a co-creator in my life along with the Universe. If I arrived on time, it would be more left to chance as to where I would sit. I had no way of knowing if I would be first in the room or not, but I felt I would be. Some people like being in the back, some people don't care where they sit, I just want to see everything, every expression, every moment. I feel more connected that way.

A kindness left behind
A kindness left behind.

I also like to arrive early so I can leave a kindness for someone to find as part of my Kindness...Pass It On Mission. I left a Kindness necklace with a Lao Tzu quote along with a note and a butterfly for someone to find. I don't put my name on it, just good wishes for a happy day. Sometimes I get just a random "thank you" message sent to my website. For a long time I didn't catch on that people were expressing gratitude for the intentional acts of kindness left behind. I chuckled at myself for my lack of awareness when I finally figured it out. I wasn't expecting a thank you, I just want to share some love, that's more than enough.

I took some photos of the room and sat down as people began to file in. Everyone was friendly and were introducing themselves and chatting away. This tall, otherworldly young man began sharing his healing experiences to me. He traveled from Washington state to Texas just to meet James Van Praagh. He told me about several miraculous healings he facilitated. He didn't have any particular training such as Reiki, it was just flowing through him and he intuitively knew what to do. He was very kind and wanted to heal the world without any type of compensation. I talked to him a little about that, as I do believe an energy exchange (healing for money, which is also energy), is not a bad thing at all. You would pay a doctor, a plumber, anyone for services, why should a healer be free? I think more value is given to it that way, and receiving that energy (money) back makes things more balanced for everyone involved. He was working to get a website together. I told him that I did social media and marketing for years, gave him my business card and told him if he ever needed help, to reach out. He seemed so touched by my offer, he had tears in his eyes and gave me a big hug. Then he held my hand, and gave me some healing energy! How lovely is that, and the class hadn't even started yet! "All this or even better" - for sure!

Soon a new friend sat next to me. Her name is Linda and she is a tarot and oracle card reader and such a sweet soul. I even booked a reading with her the following week, which I will be writing about soon. I'm not sure why I didn't think to get a picture together with her! Here's her website if you want a reading: www.lindajoneslightreader.com

My new friend Linda.
My new friend Linda.

And then James Van Praagh entered the room. He was so funny and captivating. It really was a thrill to learn from this renowned psychic and medium. The workshop was to help find out if you are a psychic, healer, or medium. At the time, with my Reiki Master certification, I only felt like a healer. I always felt that psychic and mediumship abilities had to be something you were born with. But this class was quite a third eye opener!

James talked about fear, and how it holds us back from our gifts. He said there are two ways to look at it and he shared these acronyms: FEAR = False Ego Appearing Real or Fuck Everything And Run. After a hearty laughter from the audience, we all agreed the former was the one to go with, although our tendency is the latter.

He had us do this wonderful Mountain Exercise. It was like a guided meditation, but we did it with a notebook in hand to jot down what we saw along the journey that James led us on. We would walk and come upon a bridge, a boulder, crystals, and more. We would need to describe what we saw or what we did. When he finished the journey, he reviewed it all with us, and each aspect of the journey had a parallel to our current life's journey.

James Van Praagh Hay House Live! Houston
James Van Praagh

During the psychic portion of the class, James said that we are all psychic.Everything is energy. That part I already knew from my Reiki classes, but I never thought of myself as psychic. James said that what holds us back is unworthiness, distractions like our phone, and more. This made sense, I know that my intuition is stronger when I take time to meditation, to focus inward and let go of all of the distractions.

We did a healing exercise to recognize our fears and turn them into love. It was a much better way to look at everything. One of the things I feared was not fulfilling my life purpose here. I turned it into love by stating: I am on purpose right now. And I've thought about this alot since the class. I don't think our purpose is necessarily tied to a career. I don't think it's about making alot of money, although we shouldn't think that because we are doing something that we love, that it can't be monetarily rewarding too. I think our purpose may be as simple as learning to love yourself, learning to forgive (even if it is just yourself), understanding differences in others, overcoming prejudices, realizing you are worthy of a healthy relationship. It doesn't have to be about making this huge mark on the planet, it's about elevating yourself, healing yourself, learning, learning, and learning.

James said the first place of healing is in the mind, and our resistance holds back healing. He made us think about what we are resisting. My resistance is feeling unworthy. But I'm working on it.

We also had to make a list of what we love about ourselves. Have you ever tried that? I highly recommend. See if it's easy or challenging for you. If it is challenging, keep doing it until you are comfortable, and believe all of the wonderful things about yourself. Here's some of mine: I help others. I am smart. I love cats. I write well. Spirituality and personal growth are important to me. I have artistic talent.

James Van Praagh Hay House Live! Houston

James led us through mediumship exercises. Linda and I worked together. She did a reading on me, and I did one on her. It really was fun and I was surprised that I actually saw someone in my mind for her. I wasn't expecting to see anything, but it opened up the possibility that I could. Honestly prior to this, I was a little afraid to be able to see people from "the beyond," but after this class I am fine with it! And since this class, I have seen departed people and pets more and more. I began to start noticing when I worked with Reiki clients. I am in their energy field, so this makes sense. I would see flashes of pictures at first, but all of a sudden I would see a face and I would know intuitively that it was a mother who passed, or a beloved dog. And when I would share this information, the client usually burst into tears because of how much that person or pet meant to them. I am no more gifted than anyone else, in other words, anyone can do this. And James helped me to see that. I think what is different than most, is the desire. One of the Reiki Masters I trained under had no desire to ever let anyone who has passed on into her space. She shuts it out. I don't want anything negative, but I love the fact that when we are "gone" we really aren't gone at all. We just shed our bodies.

After the workshop we all had a moment to have a book signed and say a few words of thanks to James. It truly was an honor and something I will always cherish.

I also waited to get a book signed by Robert Holden after his workshop was complete. He just exudes love and kindness.

And before I returned to the hotel I was staying at, I left The Seven Laws of Spiritual Success by Deepak Chopra, along with a butterfly magnet for someone to find at the convention center.

Another kindness left behind

This was such an enlightening experience, and all that James Van Praagh taught about being a psychic, healer, and medium has allowed these abilities to blossom in me since the class. I trust myself more. I love myself more. As James says, I have "learned to love myself more than anyone else could."

Book Review: We Consciousness by Karen Noe

On August 30, 2015 I was in my kitchen cleaning, when out of the blue Dr. Wayne Dyer popped into my head. I thought about meeting him "by chance" in 2013, and being able to thank him in person for changing my life. I finished my cleaning, went into the living room, opened up Facebook on my phone and read Doreen Virtue's post that he had passed to spirit.

I knew my sudden thought of Wayne was his way of telling me he was in another form. There are many stories from other people who loved Wayne that are similar to mine. Amongst many tears and gratitude for all he gave in his life, I thought about his years of writing, and how I always looked forward to his next book. His books became more and more spiritual over the years, reflecting his ascension in this realm. I was sad thinking I would never read a new book from him, and then I thought, maybe somehow I would.

I learned of psychic medium, spiritual counselor, healer and author Karen Noe through following Wayne Dyer's daughters on social media. Wayne connected with Karen after his passing and had messages for his family. Karen provided profound readings to his wife and daughters, giving "without a doubt" messages from Wayne. When I heard about this, I started following Karen Noe on Facebook and Instagram, and I hoped somehow Wayne would write a book through her.

We Consciousness: 33 Profound Truths For Inner And Outer Peace is the book I was hoping for! Karen Noe has channeled Wayne Dyer and the higher consciousness he... well...hangs out with, called the We Guides. The We Guides include Jesus, St. Francis, Lao Tzu and many others. Wayne had a huge affinity for St. Francis, and I recall one of his trips to Assisi where he was lecturing in the church and felt overcome at one point by St. Francis' spirit. He spent a year living the Tao, and his resulting book "Change Your Thoughts, Change Your Life reflect the path he walked honoring the teachings of Lao Tzu. He has quoted A Course In Miracles which is said to be channeled teachings of Jesus, and ended all of his lectures with one of the quotes "You can be a host to God, or a hostage to your ego." I can also see how Karen Noe is connected to all of this too. She felt a close connection to Wayne's teachings as well as a deep tie to St. Francis. She is a huge lover of animals, and believes in being an instrument of peace.

Wayne came to Karen on a New Years Eve while she was in an altered state of consciousness, and told her that she would be channeling a book not just from Wayne, but also St. Francis, ascended masters, and angels. They would be sharing 33 Profound Truths of the We Consciousness. This was helping Karen accomplish her mission on Earth, to spread the message of peace with the world.

The book begins with the 33 Profound Truths and a short explanation of each. This alone will raise your vibration, but Karen includes many chapters on how to make yourself an instrument of peace. It is truly a beautiful book, and shows how each of us can lift the vibration of the planet in how we treat ourselves and others.

We Consciousness also includes a question and answer section with Wayne. I love this part, if feels like you are sitting down with Wayne for a chat. There are also stories from his daughters and wife, prayers for peace, quotes on peace, and organizations & websites for peace.

This is a much needed book on this planet right now, and I am so grateful to Karen Noe for being an example of peace and for opening her heart to hearing the continuing wisdom of Dr. Wayne Dyer and the We Guides. And I am most grateful that Karen is sharing it with all of us.

Book Review: Diary Of A Psychic by Sonia Choquette

I have been listening to Sonia Choquette's weekly Hay House radio show for years. She has dispensed invaluable advice with the help of her guides, as well as the guides of those who call in to her show. She has a deep and compassionate wisdom combined with a knowing that you can feel is coming from her connection to higher levels of consciousness.

I have read many of her books including Trust Your Vibes, Walking Home, and her latest Waking Up In Paris. Her books never disappoint. She takes the reader along with her through her beautifully descriptive scenery and characters. She propels you into different realms of being, thinking, and feeling.

Diary Of A Psychic: Shattering The Myths takes things to a whole different level. Reading about her journey in the psychic world from childhood to adult was mind blowing. Sonia has a gift and she shows us how she nurtured it to become such a powerful psychic and teacher. She grew up in a household where her mother was psychic and helped cultivate Sonia's interest in the spiritual realm.

Sonia Choquette leads us through her colorful clients and how she helped them. She brings us along to meet the teachers who trained her. She even brings us to the scene of a murder that almost curtailed her journey. There were times throughout the book that I felt pangs in my heart about the very adult situations this then teen psychic was presented with. But it was also heartening to hear about how she came to know her guides, her relationships with her family, how she manifested a prom date, and later her soul mate. Most importantly, this is a first hand account of someone living their true divine purpose.

Sonia is a skillful writer. She writes from her heart. All of her books bring you right in so you are walking her journey with her, and Diary Of A Psychic is no exception. She also has a delicious sense of humor and a palpable joy for life. Sonia found her gift of finding people's soul plan and purpose, and she is still continuing to share that gift with the world now. This is a must read.

A Geisha, A Grandma, And Trust

Two weeks ago I attended the Many Lives, Many Masters one day workshop with Dr. Brian Weiss in Austin, which I'll be chatting about in my next blog. I arrived a day early and met up with one of my friends who was going as well. We decided to get together first at a crystal store called Nature's Treasures. Who could resist 7,000 square feet of crystals?! The store was also holding a psychic fair that day, so we decided to check it out. As my friend settled into a reading, I walked around and found Mia, who does akashic records sessions, past lives, pet readings, and more. She performed a lovely prayer to start the session and opened up my akashic records. She told me there were orbs, energies and lots of angels around me. She saw light beings, fairies and elementals around me too.

Next she talked about my spirit guides. One of them was James. He appeared in his 20's. He was from a past life we had together in Asia. He loved me in that lifetime, but couldn't be with me because I was a geisha. I loved him too, and we were very close friends. When I told my friend about this after the readings she said "Aren't geisha's prostitutes?" I had this wave of shame wash over me (This feeling wasn't from anything she was implying, it was all in my head.), I always thought of them as artists.  They were skilled artists, but depending on the period during the rise of the geisha, they could be entertaining in the same quarters as courtesans. True geishas never married. As I was initially writing this blog, I stepped away and I felt embarrassed, feeling that I would be judged for this possibility. I thought well, you don't even have to publish this blog. And I don't. But then I got over myself. I know that the only judgement that needs to be let go of, is my own.

My journey into past life regression is a work in progress. Through meditation and past life regression audios, I have only seen flashes of faces and places, nothing really concrete, not a real "seeing" of a past life. The most I have seen is my bare feet walking on a cobblestone street with shops around. It seems like I am in an old world European country, and I feel like I'm a man in that life. I have more senses away from meditation of what my past lives could have been. I have strong feelings that I have been Asian, American Indian, Indian (India) and Alaskan. I also feel a strong connection to England. Supposedly these connections reflect a knowing of a past life. There can be places, styles, cultures, interests, skills that we feel strongly or instinctually about, and those feelings can indicate a past life. We can also have fears and aversions that can indicate something significant that happened in a past life. Some people even have the "wounds" of a past life in the shape of scars or birthmarks.

So feeling an Asian connection has made the possibility of a geisha past life plausable. I suppose the harder we try, we can get anything to make sense if we want it to. But this is just an exploration for me right now, so I am looking at all of the information I am gathering with an open mind, to see if there could be any truth to this.

I have always had a serious problem with my feet. They hurt with just a small amount of walking, and this has been the case since I was a child. I worked for a short time at a podiatrist's office while I was in college. Dr. Steve helped me quite a bit by creating prescription orthotics for me. One of his curious observations after taking x-rays was that I had some free floating pieces of bone in my feet. His question was "Were you dropped as a baby?" Oh lordy. Well, that would make sense in this lifetime perhaps, but thinking towards a past life, what if these were the "wounds" from my geisha life in those bound shoes? Have you ever seen what those feet look like? Get ready...

I had called in to Denise Linn's Hay House radio show last year. I  asked her if the issue I had with my feet could be due to a past life (my heels were causing serious pain at the time and her show that day was on past lives). She told me she saw me in a past life in Russia or Poland. She could only see me from the legs down and I was barefoot. I was a refugee, walking by myself in the snow. She told me I was feeling hopeless at my situation. She made mention of how odd it was that I was all alone and not with other refugees. Digging into a past life has healed people in the present. More than one life can convey the same theme. If I can truly get to the bottom of why my feet hurt as they do, what the lesson is, the pain could actually go away. I am working through this same theory with my weight. Of course issues can be the result of a current lifetime, childhood traumas, and more. But I do believe there also can be more to it.

Next in my reading was a guide name Mary. She was an older person, a grandma in my past life or present life who is no longer here. Mary happens to be my grandmother's name who had passed over 25 years ago. Mia told me that we had several lifetimes together. She took care of me when I was little in some life. She saw her as Native American and in Peru. This was sweet to hear, as I have always have held loving memories of my grandmother. I include her in my prayers every morning to watch over my sons after I drop my youngest off at school.

The last guide she mentioned was Joseph. He hasn't been incarnated in a long time. He referred to himself as a teacher in training. He is trying to raise his level. She said it doesn't feel like he's from this galaxy. Mia felt he was from the Andromeda star system. She saw him with dark skin, short hair, tall, Indian (from India) and very smart.

So a couple of things are odd, the Native American in Peru and the guide from Andromeda who is Indian. I do go into these things with an open mind, and I have only had a couple of readings, but I have yet to have a reading where the same guide came through again. If these mystics are actually seeing my guides, perhaps they appear in a way that is understandable to them. Would I see spirit the same way, or would another psychic see something completely different? Are the messages transmitted clearly, in metaphor, and skeptically speaking, how would I know if the psychic is really a psychic? I do believe we have guides around us, I just am not sure what really is true. I did a course of Sonia Choquette's called Ask Your Guides. Through it I learned to talk to and do automatic writing from my guides. I felt very connected and it felt true to me. I learned names of some of them (none the same as Mia's reading), and what they wanted to teach me.

Mia told me at times during my day I may be feeling a light pressure on my head, and that is spirit downloading information to me, upgrading me spiritually. I have felt that many times when meditating. It feels like someone has their hands on my temples or forhead gently pushing in. She told me to listen more to my intuition, believe more in myself. She said I second guess myself and worry quite a bit. I have to be more trusting. Trust seems to be quite a theme in my life, and I would say it's one of my biggest lessons. She said to ask my guides for help, because of free will, they can only help if we ask.

She asked if I had any questions, so I asked her about my weight to see if there was anything else behind it besides too many bars of candy. She said there is a layer behind my weight and that is for protection. She said it is an addition since childhood, using food as a way of coping with life. It fill s a void, helps me to cope with stress and emotions. She said self love is important. She said this in not physical (surgery would not solve the situation, I would just gain it back). She said it's an energetic and emotional fix. I have felt an addiction to food, especially when trying to let go of anything sugary. I also relate to the protection factor. And while I think about it, part of the thing I protect myself from is men. I feel uncomfortable about how I look when I'm thinner. It draws attention to me and makes me nervous. Could this relate to being a geisha? Could it relate to my isolation in my Russia / Poland life? What is the lesson I need to learn?

On a lighter note, of course I bought crystals after my reading! My first rose quartz pendulum, obsidian, celestite, a St. Peter statue to help with my aching feet (I just "happened" to come across him. I had no idea there was a saint to help with feet) and some candles. I talked to my friend at lunch about our experiences. She sat with Mia for almost an hour (mine was about 18 minutes, I could have gone longer if I wanted to but I felt I heard enough). She described some things that were absolutely incredible and very connected to her life. I told her I wasn't sure how I felt. She said I was a geisha, but I just happened to be wearing red lipstick (not common for me) and a bag that had an asian emblem on it. My friend said "maybe there's a reason why YOU chose to wear the lipstick and carry that bag." Hmmm. Since we are drawn to and repelled by things that occurred in our past lives, this certainly gives pause to think.

After the trip I had the urge to look up James in Japanese just to see if there was anything that would ring a bell to me. When I have thoughts to do stuff, I usually can tell when it's guidance and intuition, so I go with it. Awhile back I had a phone reading with Karen Kubicko and was told that smiley faces were signs from spirit of their presence. I went to an event with don Miguel Ruiz and don Miguel Ruiz Jr. right after that reading, (click here for blog) and instead of a wristband for seating, I was given a happy face sticker. That night was magical and I could feel spirit throughout the room for all of us. So much love. The smiley face was a beautiful sign among others that night. Anyway, after googling James, here's what I found:
ジェームス

I see a smiley face, do you? There were many links to prior readings. Even if the names weren't the same, the lessons are linked. So maybe I need remember what I know in my heart to be true: the universe is speaking to us, I just need to trust.

Book Review: What Your Clutter Is Trying To Tell You by Kerri Richardson

I can't resist reading a new Hay House book, and how could I possibly resist reading something from another Kerri? I have been following Kerri Richardson on Facebook for quite awhile and enjoy her clutter busting tips, her many live chats, and following her adventures of building a tiny house with her wife Melissa. I was very excited to get my hands on her new book.

What Your Clutter Is Trying To Tell You - Uncover The Message In The Mess And Reclaim Your Life arrived with a little over 100 pages, I thought hmm, this is slim, not your typical 250+ pages. But once I started reading, I realized something pretty spectacular, the book is clutter free! What could get across the point any clearer? When you read a book, especially self help, and the same message is repeated over and over again in slightly different ways, it can get very monotonous. You know the point could be wrapped up so much quicker. Well, Kerri did it! Kerri Richardson's book is filled with concrete steps to remove the clutter and get to the bottom of why it's there in the first place. She also provides her own personal stories and those from her clients too.

What Kerri reveals in What Your Clutter Is Trying To Telling You, is far more valuable than just removing items from your home. Clutter is a symptom, and Kerri helps get you to the cause. Her book is a deep dive into the multitude of ways clutter clogs your personal space and your head space. Her book provides an easy method to break down clutter clearing in more manageable chunks. It takes away the overwhelm and provides an enormous sense of accomplishment in a short time.

While I read the book I also participated in a 30 Day Clutter Clearing Game that Kerri started on Facebook. This was also a fantastic way to ease into clutter clearing. For each day of the month, you clear that number of items (1 item for day one, 30 items for day 30, etc) and by the end you will have gotten rid of 465 items! Here's more details on Kerri's site: http://kerririchardson.com/clutter-game/She also offers private coaching, group coaching and Clutter Buster coursesKerri has endless ideas for clutter clearing. Along with her book, I highly recommend following her on social media to join her groups and live chats (links are below). The extra support helps so much. I am also an avid fan of her new Hay House Radio show on Mondays at 11AM PT. Definitely check it out, you can call in and speak to her too!

Thanks to Kerri I realized that clutter is more than just objects, it can be in other things that weigh us down (including weight itself). She made me look at why I was really holding on to the extra pounds. I thought I was sabotaging myself for upcoming events in my life. I would start the diet because "x" event was coming up in a few months, but instead of losing, I would gain. Through Kerri's guidance, it became clear that it was the events themselves that I was protecting myself from. I am empathic, shy and sensitive, and new situations and different energies are difficult for me. The extra padding puts a buffer between that. It's definitely helpful to know the "why" when you are trying to make a change.

Another clutter trap was my art supplies. I have always thought "I am an artist" even though I haven't practiced it in a long time. I had art supplies in my closet as far back as high school and many from college. I felt like I couldn't let them go since "I am an artist" has been my mantra for years. I even bought a whole new set of art supplies well over a year ago to inspire me to create again. But it's still sitting in the same closet. Kerri helped me examine this. Is this something I actually enjoy? Through simple exercises, I have come to realize that what I thought was a fear of doing this again, may actually be that it's just not for me right now. I don't have to be an artist. Why would I create that kind of pressure on myself? I was able to let go of the high school & college supplies, and a stinky college textbook (I just don't like old book smell) And the best part is, I didn't have the attachment to it all that I thought I would. It wasn't hard to let it go. I kept the newer supplies, and before I decide if I will let it go entirely, I will try it out again, but with no pressure. I know now that I don't have to do or be anything other than happy.

I am the queen of lists. Through Kerri Richardson's book and the "Action Time!" steps, I was able to see how the lists were keeping me from having any fun. The lists never ended. So I've clutter cleared those, pared things down to what I really need to remember to do, and added in fun things on my list! I was also able to let go of Christmas items that had no meaning (or I didn't like), along with releasing the guilt feelings that whisper that I have to keep every memory forever. I let go of items that held negative memories. Going through the bad memories was only difficult at the start of the process (Who wants to conjure up bad feelings?), once I started working on it, and got things out of the house, I felt free and clear. Everything holds energy, and avoiding them and having them in my home, was not healthy.

I let go of excessive wrapping paper, years old unfinished crafts (I have yet to remember what the googly eyes on rocks was all about), DVDs, kitchen items, school supplies, outdated food & medicine, clothing, computer cords, cookbooks, and more. Almost everything was donate or recycled. I paired down some of the school papers I've been keeping of my kids. Those memories are the hardest for me. I really felt like I needed to keep it all, but that was just something I put on myself, and now I am more able to let it go. I don't need to keep every single memory to remember their childhood or to honor them.

What Your Clutter Is Trying To Tell You shows the common causes of clutter, provides a resource list of where to donate or sell items, and even provides a section on turning clutter into cash! Kerri also points out so many additional types of clutter that may surprise you, but once sorted through and released from your life, will make a positive impact.

Kerri encourages us to look at what is coming in to our lives as the clutter leaves, and I just love that! This awareness paired with gratitude brings so much more goodness into our lives. Throughout the last month and a half of reading the book and letting go of physical, digital and mental clutter, so many blessings have arrived. I received an invitation from an Instagram friend to participate in goodness packs she was putting together. This resulted in a large order for Kindness Cards and paper butterflies that will now be distributed around the U.K.! I also received an affiliate check from Hay House, a free life insurance policy, a new TV for my office (also free), and many other blessings of kindness and abundance. The best part is feeling lighter, a sense that good is flowing in my life, and I am putting more positive energy into the world as a result. This is an ongoing process, but one I feel confident and positive about thanks to Kerri Richardson and What Your Clutter is Trying To Tell You.
